Our central Illinois organization has been proudly serving individuals with disabilities since 1960. We offer valuable insight and expertise on issues surrounding individuals with disabilities. We are happy to assist with stories by arranging interviews with program staff and when possible, individuals receiving services. Please contact me with any questions or story request. This page also makes available our current events or news press releases. Thank you for visiting our website and we appreciate your feedback.

  • Spring Style Show a Big Success

Community Workshop and Training Center, Inc. hosted its sixth annual Lilacs in Bloom Luncheon and Style Show on Sunday, April 27, 2008, at the Par-a-dice Hotel in East Peoria. Proceeds from the event benefit the adults with disabilities served by CWTC.

185 people enjoyed a lovely Spring-time luncheon, followed by the show with models wearing fashions from Acorn, Belle Mie, Broms Furs and Fashions, Cache, Coldwater Creek, Gymboree, and Talbots. Guests were also able to purchase Mary Kay products or Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure registrations and commemorative shirts. The highlight of the event was the Jones Brothers diamond bracelet giveaway.

Plans are already underway for next year’s event, scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Par-a-Dice Hotel, where we are hoping to fill the room with fun and fashions!
